Directly fill in password into other apps using Lollipop's new AccessibilityAction features

Dec 3, 2014 at 7:41 AM
Hi,

Android Lollipop offers some new features that allow apps to directly fill in passwords into other apps safely without using the clipboard.
I'm refereing to the AccessibilityNodeInfo.AccessibilityAction and ACTION_SET_TEXT (https://developer.android.com/reference/android/view/accessibility/AccessibilityNodeInfo.AccessibilityAction.html).

Is someone planning of implementing this feature into Keepass2Android?
Because it would make the app more user friendly.

sounds like https://keepass2android.codeplex.com/workitem/241?

That definitely would be very nice, but I'll have to see what it needs to be done!

If you didn't see, I posted a link to an app that is GPLv3 that has that functionality in that issue.

thanks for pointing to that code.
Please note, however, that there is currently an issue with the accessibility service which seems like this really has its downsides:

Update on the android issue.

Seems like it will finally be fixed in the Marshmallow release. Hopefully this means this sought after feature can be implemented without negative performance issues.
