I find it very nice to be able to download Keepass2Android on the Codeplex page, thus without using Google Play. Yet, something even nicer would be to put the app on F-droid, a very popular FOSS repository: https://f-droid.org/

This would allow people that don't use Google Play to have an easy way to update the application, while giving a lot of visibility to the app (I know a lot of people who only use FOSS on their mobile, and only through F-Droid, thus no one knew that Keepass2Android existed).

Maybe it is already planned?

Thanks for this very very good app.

if you google for F-Droid + Keepass2Android, you will find a thread where this is discussed on F-Droid. Bottomline is that they cannot build KP2A because it uses Mono for Android as a framework/build system which is not free.
