Copy / Paste to another App

May 25, 2013 at 1:33 PM
The top of the Keepass2Android screen flashes that "select" a field copies it to clipboard. However, my phone doesn't give me the "Paste" option when I open another app and try to copy the password into a field there.

Am I missing a simple step here? Please help!

Keepassdroid's design has visible "Copy User" and "Copy Password" buttons. Selecting these always enables the "Paste" function when I open another App on my phone (Samsung Stratosphere). How do I accomplish this task with Keepass2Android?

OK - I solved this copy & paste problem!

For a password:

(1) In Keepass2Android, open the Keepass entry you want to work with
(2) Select SETTINGS, and then select "Show password"
(3) Press finger on the password, and choose "Select word" .. the password will now be highlighted
(4) Press a 2nd time on the highlighted password and choose "Copy"
(5) Open the App you wish to paste into, and press the password field
(6) Select "Paste".

Works! .. but seems like a lot of steps to me - and should be streamlined.

Thank you.

Did you try to pull down the notification bar and tap on the "Copy password to clipboard"? After this, you should be able to paste the password!?

But BTW, I recommend to use the KP2A keyboard anyways!

Thank you PhilippC!

I didn't know that the Notification bar had KP2A options to copy User Name and Password to the clipboard.
Very helpful, and this will save a few steps.

Thanks again.
