Disable K2A NFC detection?

Dec 22, 2014 at 6:43 PM
Is it possible to turn off Keepass2Android's NFC detection? I believe it is used for HOTPs but I don't use that anymore to avoid OTP counting issues.
Instead I use Keechallenge along with a long master password. Part of this master password is on a Yubikey NEO and I am using Yubiclip to copy the password to the phone clipboard.
However each time I scan the NEO, I am asked which application I would like to complete the action with, Yubiclip, or Keepass2Android. Despite clicking 'Always', the same prompt comes up when I scan the NEO again. I have a screen recording of this which can be viewed here:
This occurs on both my phone (android 4.4.4) and tablet (5.0.1).

if you change the ndef payload (see to something different, you shouldn't see KP2A come up when NFC is detected.

If I change the payload I don't think Yubiclip will work. "Note that the default NDEF programming needs to be used. If you've reprogrammed the NDEF tag of your YubiKey NEO, you will need to change it back to the URL:"

unfortunately, KP2A is displayed because of some settings in the Application Manifest. The Manifest is "static", i.e. I can't add a preference option to disable the behavior. Don't know why Android keeps asking you which app to use.

Ok thanks PhilippC. Do you think there is any other way to avoid this issue?

maybe you can ask Yubico if they could support more than the one NDEF payload URI?
