Can't open key files stored in Drive or internal storage storage

Nov 10, 2013 at 6:39 AM
Hi there,

I'm having some problems getting Keepass2android to detect key files when they're stored on anything other than Dropbox.

If the key files are stored on Google Drive or internal storage then K2A won't let me select them (the Open From file selector has them greyed out). It only let's me select key files from my Dropbox for some reason. The key files have standard names (e.g. file.key).

I'm using a Nexus 5 running 4.4 and the latest version of K2A 0.9.1.

could you please post a screenshot? I think the click on the folder icon next to the keyfile input field should bring up a file browser for your local files??

I tap the folder icon which opens the "Open from" screen shown below:

If I choose "Drive" and browse to my key files stored there they are all greyed out and cannot be selected:

If I choose "Internal Storage" and browse to my key files stored there they are also greyed out and cannot be selected:

Tapping on the files does nothing.

Note: This only seems to be a problem with the default file picker. If I choose to open from Dropbox, OI File Manager or File Expert I can locate the files fine.

Let me know if you need any further info.

Thanks a lot for the screenshots, now I understand what you mean. I haven't seen Android 4.4, so I didn't really know what you were talking about.

I'll try to fix this as soon as I get 4.4 on the Nexus 7 2013 which should be pretty soon.
